Internationally, Seoul has been
fast growing in terms of culture and technology. Many of our
neighbors and visitors from around the world would like to
experience the core of Seoul¡¯s distinct attractions. Along
with its six hundred year-old history, Seoul shows a lot of
active development in terms of arts infrastructure and
technology-based urban development. SINSFO provides as many
opportunities and information as possible about Seoul¡¯s
cultural vision, advancements, and life to its
participants.

SFAC constituted an Executive
Committee comprised of theoretical experts and experienced
practitioners deeply involved in the fields of cultural
policy, international relations and arts festival leadership.
We pursue the growth of an even larger international network
through the successful completion of two goals in SINSFO.
First, we prioritize the diversification of networking
opportunities at SINSFO by preparing big and small gatherings
for participants to discuss their works. In addition, our
activities provide intellectual stimulation to those who are
leaders and managers of arts festivals around the
world.

Festival organizers consist not
only of creative programmers, artistic directors and artists,
but also managers, regional government officials and even
sponsors. Festivals are enjoyed and prepared by a diverse
segment of a community where a festival takes place. Many
people believe that they are involved in the creative sector
known as ¡°festival production,¡± even though they may be
volunteers or audience members. SINSFO opens and extends the
concept of ¡®festival organizers¡¯ to include all the creative
people involved in ¡®creating festivity¡¯ in any form.
Consequently, the goal for all SINSFO participants is to
explore the identity of festival organizers by sharing our
vivid experiences while engaged in festivals.
All
activities of SINSFO are organically programmed to embody
these objectives. SINSFO¡¯s various activities include
Newcomers¡¯ Welcome Party, SINSFO Seminar, Workshops on
Festival Programming Methodologies, Networking Luncheons,
Video Presentations of International Festivals, a Seoul City
Tour and Closing
Party.
