Seoul Circus Festival 2025 introduced an open call for international programs this year to expand the festival’s scope and foster global exchange. A total of 116 teams applied, undergoing administrative, document, and panel review processes. Applications came from 31 countries, showcasing a wide range of works that reflected the global trends in circus arts. Many submissions featured clowning or acrobatic techniques, while others incorporated elements of music, sports, and other genres, demonstrating creative fusions. The evaluation focused on the artistic and technical excellence of the works, their alignment with the festival’s vision, and their contribution to cultural engagement. Additionally, we aimed to balance the selected works to ensure a diverse representation of themes and techniques. |

서울서커스페스티벌2025은 올해부터 축제의 확장성과 국제 교류를 위해 새롭게 해외 작품 공모를 진행하였습니다. 총 116팀이 지원하여 행정 및 서류, 토론 심사를 거쳤습니다. 총 31개국의 여러 국가에서 활동하는 다양한 작품이 접수되어 서커스 예술 장르의 세계적 흐름을 엿볼 수 있었습니다. 광대극이나 아크로바틱 기예를 선보이는 작품이 많았으며, 음악이나 스포츠 등 다른 장르와 결합된 형태의 작품도 눈에 띄었습니다. 심사는 작품과 기예의 완성도, 축제 방향과의 적합성, 그리고 문화향유 기여도를 기준으로 진행했습니다. 또한 선정될 작품의 컨셉과 기예의 다양성을 고려하여 적절히 안배하였습니다. |
